Carlos Ossenbach is a reknown researcher that focus on the research and study of various orchids in American continent. For his next series "A History of Orchids in South America”, we designed the covers for the three different books that make up the volume. There were three design proposals that all showcased Mrs. Ossenbach's paintings and archive botanical drawings of orchids.

Each design proposal offered a different layout and typeface pairing, although the first book proposals showcased paintings and the illustrations the author felt that they were too modern and bold for the book's content. Thus the final proposal was selected, as it was the perfect combination of a full bleed painting with a geometric sans serif typeface.
